Ready to communicate your research needs and get an eGC1 started?

1. Once you have identified a possible opportunity for sponsored project funding, and have assembled your research team, drafted a general scope of work, and have identified your budget needs your next step is the “Intake Form ” and requesting your eGC1.
2. Identify the sponsor due date from the RFP or other communication from the sponsor.
3.    Consider whether this is a fairly simple or more involved proposal.
   1.    Indicators of simple would be—only CBE personnel, no sub-recipients/outgoing subawards, no cost share, standard F&A, non-federal, a sponsor who’s requirements you as the PI are familiar with, etc.
   2. Indicators of a more involved proposal would be—UW personnel from across campus, sub-recipients/outgoing Subawards, cost share, reduced F&A, federal sponsor, or a sponsor who’s requirements you are not familiar with.
4. If your proposal is simple reference a calendar and ensure that today’s date is at least 3 weeks (15 business days) prior to the sponsor due date.
5. If your proposal is more involved reference a calendar and ensure that today’s date is at least 6 week (30 business days) prior to the sponsor due date.

If you find you are requesting a tighter timeline please contact Grants Manager and & Associate Dean for /of Research  by email prior to submitting your form.

If your proposal needs are within these timelines please submit your intake for now. Once received the Grants Manager will respond to your request within two (2) business days.
